A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is one way some supporters choose to make a meaningful, tax-efficient gift to Texas Dance Hall Preservation.

A QCD allows you to give directly from your Traditional IRA to TDHP. Because the funds go straight to the organization, the gift may be excluded from your taxable income—even if you do not itemize deductions.

You may be eligible if:

  • You are age 70½ or older at the time of the gift
  • You have a Traditional IRA

Married couples may each make a QCD from their own IRA, up to the annual IRS limit per individual.

Yes. If you are age 73 or older, a QCD may count toward your annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

Supporters often use QCDs because they:

  • Are a simple way to support TDHP’s work
  • May reduce taxable income
  • Can help meet annual IRA distribution requirements
  • The gift must be sent directly from your IRA custodian to TDHP
  • Funds must come from a Traditional IRA
  • No goods or services may be received in return

Contact your IRA custodian and ask them to issue a Qualified Charitable Distribution using the information below. Please request that your name and contact information be included so we can properly acknowledge your gift.

“Please issue a Qualified Charitable Distribution from my Traditional IRA payable to Texas Dance Hall Preservation.

Please mail the check to:
Texas Dance Hall Preservation
PO Box 150068
Austin, TX 78715

Please include my name and contact information with the distribution.”
