Presented by Texas Dance Hall Preservation, the Dance Hall Toolkit Series provides hall owners, non-profit boards, operators, and volunteers with practical, direct guidance from trusted professionals. Each virtual session tackles real-world challenges facing our halls—from structural preservation and floor care to insurance, music licensing, rural marketing, and daily operations. About the Session

The wood dance floor is the heart of every Texas dance hall. Caring for original longleaf pine and hardwood requires special consideration—standard modern products, aggressive drum sanding, and hidden moisture issues can permanently damage irreplaceable antique wood.

Join Texas Dance Hall Preservation for an informal, informative virtual conversation tailored for hall operators, volunteers, board members, and caretakers. Our guest experts will discuss the fundamentals of caring for historic floors, followed by an open Q&A where you can ask specific questions about your hall’s needs.
