TDHP and SPJST are working together to help lodges document their history and become eligible for the state historic tax credit program, which is open to all 501c nonprofit organizations, including fraternal lodge halls.
Buildings that are designated as Recorded Texas Historic Landmarks or listed on the National Register of Historic Places are eligible for the Texas State Historic Tax Credit Program, which can return up to 25% of qualifying rehabilitation expenses to lodges that spend at least $5,000 on hall renovation projects.
