Artist Gail Wendorf is known for her beautifully-crafted landscapes and figurative studies in music and dance from around the world. Most notably, her Waltz Across Texas paintings – cataloging the dance halls of Texas – first exhibited in the office of former first lady, Mrs. Laura W. Bush in 2000. This series has not been on display in the capital city for over 11 years but can be seen at the Consulate General of Ireland, located at 515 Congress Avenue, #1720, Austin TX through January 16, 2017.
TDHP is overwhelmed by her generous contribution supporting the preservation of historic Texas dance halls and the spirit of family, dance, music and community. We are excited to have her painting (to be selected in early January from the Austin exhibit) and will determine how best to utilize it to best serve our mission and goals in 2017.
