Hosted by Texas Dance Hall Preservation and Ray Benson & Asleep at the Wheel with presenting sponsor Central Market, the official Texas Dance Hall Tour sets out to bring you the truest form of the Texas Dance Hall experience there is. Spend a four-day weekend in the beautiful Dallas/Fort Worth area at four historic and one-of-a-kind dance halls. Featuring the best in Texas music, there’s no doubt you’ll be two-stepping your way to an unforgettable weekend, and it all benefits TDHP, supporting our ever-expanding programs.
The Texas Dance Hall Tour aims to entertain, educate, and engage the public around Texas’ cultural and musical heritage. The great state of Texas is filled with historic dance halls. In the late 1800s and into the early 1900s, dance halls flourished, with as many as 1,000 halls built in Texas over the years. Although now fewer than 400 remain, there are more historic dance halls in the state of Texas than anywhere in the country. They represent authentic music, culture, and history.
The dance halls and artists featured on the Texas Dance Hall Tour include:
- Thursday, June, 13: Asleep at the Wheel at Sons of Hermann Hall in Dallas, Texas
- Friday, June 14: Hot Club of Cowtown at the Historic National Hall in Fort Worth, Texas
- Saturday, June 15: Jason Roberts Band at Stagecoach Ballroom in Fort Worth, Texas
- Sunday, June 16: Asleep at the Wheel at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, Texas
